Gary’s Comeback Season
Gary turns up to the board meeting in full pads and helmet to announce he has been approved to play middle school football. Practice goes about as well as you would expect: three high knees, some muscle cream, and a huddle he tries to overrule on the grounds that he is on the board. He scores once, celebrates like a champion, and points at a scoreboard reading 42 to 6 with no time left. He retires that evening, and announces he is trying out for cheerleading on Monday.
